In 1974, Inder and his wife, Erna, opened one of Ottawa’s first health-food stores and cafés—Handa Natural Foods—a lively neighborhood hub where customers often asked about the family’s own trips. Inder added a small “travel desk” to help friends plan journeys, and the idea took flight. In 1976, he opened Handa Travel, guided by a simple promise: treat every trip as if it were for your own family.
